In 2020, the EU harvested a total of 55.3 million tonnes of potatoes.

Interestingly, Germany has become the largest producer, while Cyprus, on the contrary, the smallest.

According to the latest data, Germany accounted for 21.2% of production in the EU, while Cyprus only 1%.

Poland ranks second in potato growing in Europe (16.4%), followed by France (15.7%), the Netherlands (12.7%) and Belgium (7.2%).

Germany and these four countries accounted for almost 75% of the total potato production in the EU.
