By 2035, China plans to sell flowers worth more than 100 billion dollars
Chinese authorities will strive to modernize the country’s flower industry by 2035 so that annual flower sales exceed 700 billion yuan (about $101.28 billion), Xinhua reports.According to the country’s flower industry development plan, by 2035, China will basically have established a complete system for protecting flower germplasm resources, and the market share of the main flower varieties grown in the country will reach 25%.
It is noted that the PRC will promote independent innovation in the flower and seed industry, optimize production and supply chains in the flower industry, and also strengthen the role of technological innovation as a driver for the development of this industry.
The plans also include measures to improve the quality of flowers, accelerate the digitalization of the flower industry and promote the modernization of flower consumption.
